This gorgeous view of the Moscow Red Square has been painted by Piotr Puchkov, who was one of the leading Fedoskino painters specialized in the genre of architecture. Piotr Puchkov, an outstanding Fedoskino painter exhibited in the All-Russia Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art.
The beautiful panorama opens up before the viewer's eyes. In the foreground the artist has painted the Grand Kremlin Palace and the Moscow Kremlin encompassed by the red-bricked wall.
Gold paint is used to detail the architecture.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four feet. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 1950.
